More Shot Over Shots

On the eve before I join Christian, Kevin Raber and the others on True North for another Kimberley adventure, I thought I would put up a couple of other images from my canyon shoot in Exmouth.

My next post will be probably on Sunday as I will be enroot to True North tomorrow with departure scheduled for 1700 tomorrow evening.

Let the games begin! 🙂

True North Kimberley trip coming up!

Mark-TN at True North[1]

From this Saturday, I will be back on board True North assisting the PODAS team to make sure that the first PODAS cruise goes 100% to plan.

PODAS have booked the whole boat and we have guests coming from all over the world to enjoy the adventure on True North and to use a Phase One camera, as well as the opportunity to be tutored by a range of very experienced photographic tutors. (Everyone on board will be given a Phase One to use for the entire trip)!

On board, as tutors, we will have our very own Christian Fletcher, Michael Reichman from Luminous Landscapes and Art Wolf of National Geographic fame, as well as the new CEO of Luminous Landscapes, Kevin Raber, with special guest on board, Thomas Knoll (the inventor of Photoshop)!!!

Christian and I have worked together with one of our senior Captains, Brad Benbow to customise the cruise from Broome to Wyndham to ensure we get to all the iconic locations at the best possible time, as well as getting to a few new ones!

We are going to have a daily competition on board that we are hoping that our friends at home can get involved with as judges!

We will be asking all the photographers on board to upload their best image from the day to our True North facebook page and the photo that gets the most likes the following day will win a prize.

In order to see the photos and to make your vote please to to the True North website here and like the page so that you will see the shots as they are uploaded. Feel free to vote for more that one image as the one that wins will still be the one that has the most votes!

I will also be posting my own images on this blog and my facebook page as well.

A further announcement from True North is as follows:

On Tuesday night the TRUE NORTH was announced as the Best Expedition or Adventure Cruising ship at the prestigious 2013 Australian Gourmet Traveller Travel Awards.

This further success follows our outstanding performance at the recent Luxury Travel Gold List Awards where the TRUE NORTH won Best Luxury Adventure Travel Experience, Best Luxury Cruise Company and, Best Luxury Cruise Ship (small) – the first time an entrant has won 3 Gold List awards in a single year! The ship was also an earlier winner of Cruise Passenger Magazine’s Best Soft Adventure Cruise Ship.

So stay tuned and enjoy the fun!

Rowley Shoals Magic

Blue Lines

Rowleys Clarity

I was sifting through a few old Rowley Shoals RAW files last night for an Advertising agency and found these little gems lurking there, so I thought I would share them!

The Rowley Shoals is one of WA’s best kept secrets and boasts world class diving and snorkelling in absolutely pristine condition and as it is 200nm off the coast it is also a place you can explore without having to share with hoards of other explorers!

If beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters are on your ‘to do list’ then the Rowley’s can deliver for sure.

True North only does 3 cruises out there each year and at this point we do have some availability, so if you would like to know more, check out our new website here

Splashback anyone?

I am doing a refit on a mates 50ft Pleasure boat at the moment and we will be doing a galley refurb in amongst that refit.

That prompted me to think outside the box for a splashback and have come up with this at 1800 wide and 450 high. It will be printed in high gloss on aluminium by Fitzgeralds and I think the over all concept will work very well!

Apparently the high gloss printing treatment is scratch resistant and heat resistant, so it will work very well for a splash back.

More Aerials from Exmouth

Exmouth Epic SS

Skybird Aerial

Here are a few more aerials from my Exmouth flights with Birds Eye View Microlights and also from the burner on the way home.

The one with the boat in it is actually of my old charter boat called Skybird! It was very cool flying over the top and thinking..I know that boat and sure enough on a lower pass it was Skybird alright!

We had many a memorable moment on that boat around the place!
