Boranup Forest

Here’s a couple from Boranup bright and early on Sunday morning!

Very crisp and a wonderful smell of fresh rain in the forrest.

I was told recently by a good friend of mine who used to work in the forestry industry that Boranup Forest is totally planted and that 30 years ago or so, that area was just cleared farmland!

It makes sense as there are only Karri trees there and if it were an old growth forest, there would be a mix of Karri, Jarrah and the like.

Not bad for a regrowth forest eh!

More from Lake Clifton

On the ground this time and a 9 image stitch with the Nikon and the 24mm – 70mm at 24mm.

Quite a challenge with the parallex errors due to the close proximity of the jetty for the stitch, but it worked out ok in the end.

Such a great way to start the day, seeing things like this!

Lake Clifton’s Thrombolites

We headed back from Dunsborough very early this morning and as I approached Lake Clifton I saw the conditions were clearing up to make way for a cool shoot at Lake Clifton.

A quick diversion past the site of some of the worlds oldest living organisms, the Thrombolites paid dividends with perfect conditions.

These 3 shots are the results!
