Classic Longreach

Well….it’s been a classic b real at Rottnest this year with mild conditions and variable southerlies as the norm.
ย
I met a young fella from Brazil yesterday when I was doing my photo walk and he asked if I knew Rottnest much at all!
ย
Just a bit i said and he says its the most beautiful place he has ever seen.
ย
This shot is a classic view of Longreach anchorage.

I had a great time in the water this weekend and had friend and fellow Photog Neal “Mr Spool’ Pritchard over as well. Apart from some pretty cool landscapes we captured, I also saw some quite different and interesting stuff diving.

I think I even found Flembot’s spaceship that he left here for safe keeping!

The stone fish is something to be very wary about when diving around Rottnest these days. This is the 3rd I have seen in the same amount of months which I put down to the warmer sea temperatures this year. It would be very easy to put your arm on one of those spikes and let me tell you…that would ruin your day!

The other cool little critter is a cuttle fish I think. How’s the camouflage of both the Stonefish and the Cuttlefish.

The underwater bubble shots are also very cool I think. All this in one dive and I managed to get 4 crays as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

The last shot for this evening and it was one of the last shots from the midday shoot on Saturday.

The sand colours and the clouds surrounding the yacht mast attracted me to this image.

I think the image typifies how lucky we are to have an island like Rottnest just off Perth. There are very few places on this planet that can boast pristine beaches and colours like this!
