Another beautiful sunrise this morning for those who managed to get out of bed in time!
This time over the Attadale park land looking over the city.
The golden light only lasted a few minutes before the cloud cover won the battle with the light, but I managed to capture this before it did!
I have a commercial client who tasked me to get some local images for them and I am solo glad they did!
This is the first one, which will feature at 2m wide in their foyer on Acrylic!
It looks like my ‘bright and blue theme’ is carrying on with some commercial work I have been asked to do!
My client wanted some blue sky structural images from around Perth, so this is one take on that subject matter!
I was driving into Perth yesterday evening to see my old man who has been in hospital for a while and I saw a rain storm passing over Perth with some of the most amazing light I have ever seen over Perth. Not to mention the amazing rainbow that was evolving!
Coming down the Freeway and stuck in traffic was very frustrating as I saw the rain storm passing over the narrows. I drove up t Kings Park and literally ran to the vantage point. I managed top ping off a 3 image stitch of South Perth along the way.
I did end up with a half reasonable stitch of Perth City with the rain storm off in the distance that I was chasing, but so annoyed I missed that rainstorm light!
I am very pleased to announce that one of my photos has made the top 25 finalists in the Black Swan Heritage Competition.
The theme is obviously focused on CY O’Connor and the old Barracks in Perth. I took a shot of the CY O’Connor statue out in the water at CY O’Connor beach and then blended him into the barracks as a ghostly overlay.
It seems that the judges liked the concept!
Fingers crossed now to hear about the winner! 🙂
During my walk around Pelican Point last night, the solitude and the tranquil waters seemed to be just screaming out to be photographed!
It was a beautiful evening out this evening and whilst juggling between hospital visits I found myself gravitating to Matilda Bay and Pelican Point.
There are a bunch of interesting perspectives out on the point and was quite happy with what I came away with.
I have been meaning to get out to UWA for a while now, as every time I drive past I could see that there was some amazing architecture to capture.
Well, I wasn’t disappointed at all and spent the good part of a couple of hours walking around and taking in the serenity.

During the last full Moon I scouted around a few different perspectives around Perth and came up with this one looking down Barrack Street from Parliament House.
I set out this evening to see if the pending thunderstorm was going to do any thing for me and after starting out at Kings Park in amongst the other half of Perth who were there for a concert, I decided to look for a more peaceful location and ended up at the very secret location of the Boat House! 🙂
2 other photogs had also stumbled across my secret location as well…funny that eh!
